The Englis class.

This is the second time i do this subject, English four, in university. The first time was in 2010, when I was in first year.  That time (the first), was horrible.  I was too unmotivated with my career, and this subject could have been the drop that overflow the glass, but I decide give up it. And was best, because today I am interested in English and the teacher makes a big difference.  Who makes me the subject in 2010 really don’t motivate us, but today we can see the work and motivation behind the class, and the own personality is a difference.

Talking in general, I think the use of blogs is a good idea, because we can write about many topics and explain this.  The opportunity of write with freedom, about different topics is so good, some of them free, and others with definitions, is better than other ways.  And specifically blogs has de advantage we have tools to learn words we don’t know.  Really is a good exercise just sits and write, although we don’t know how… just learn making, I think this is the key.

I think could be a good idea add contains related to our disciplines. No technical language (for example statistic and nothing similar), but some concepts used in general in social sciences. I don’t know specifically how, but as I understand, this subject has this objective, for example in some subjects we have to read theorical books that are in english, and having past the english subjects we although have the tools to read this books, and is a problem to us.

Finally outside the English class I don’t use nothing of englis. This is a problem to me. In fact, in the school I have received  a good english formation, but today I can’t remember basic things, just because I don’t practice nothing.

This Year.

I think 2013 has been a good year in most topics. Not new things, but continuing the good way of the last year.

For my life, since the last year I am with my girlfriend, and, in September of the last year we decide live together. Have been a good experience, and now we have one year and two month and a half living together.

In the middle, we spent vacations in the south, between Chiloe, where she is from, Puerto Montt, where I’m from and her mother lives, and Chillan, where my mother lives. We visited beautiful places like Llico River, near to Fresia, or many, many places in Chiloe.  Really were amazing our vacations.

In other topics I have updated with my studies, because later the riots of 2011 I was late with some signatures, but today I am almost completely updated.  And this is an achievement for mi.

Too related to my studies I’m working in an investigation about the transition to democracy, in a Marxist view, to explain the process of depolarization of the society and what happened to the politic left with this process.  And, with this, I have finished the data recollection, and now I’m working in analysis. And interesting things have emerged, that don’t appear in the books or my hypothesis. I think this investigation have future, because is too relevant for our new politic period with the new majority and Bachelet as the most probable Chilean president.

And obviously this is the biggest new of the year, but too the most obviously Bachelet will be our new president. It’s too interesting how the Concertación, who was in the ground, and didn’t have way, and were open the fissure to the emergence to give politic way to the social discontented, now everything is in the hands of the same people who hold the neoliberalism and protected democracy. I don’t have so much expectative with Bachelet. 

The x Files

As the post of today is free, I will write about my favorite TV show: The X files.

Released in 1993, written by Chris Carter and other scriptwriter, I think this is the best series never filmed, and I have some motives to say this. 

First, in the main storyline that cross nine seasons and the first movie is a good mixing of:

-The structure of Venezuelan soaps, with elements like the cancer of Scully, one of  the protagonists, and the magical recovery, her be sterile, and then pregnant, and in the final must to get her baby in adoption.  Or the Fox Mulder story with his father, William, who was friend of his main enemy, the smoker. But then he knows that his real father was the smoker, who had a love with his mother, and in a moment of the story, Alex Krycek sent by the Smoker, Kills William Mulder.

 - A Metaphor about the imperialism and his intentions to enslave the humanity. Think this: The colonialist aliens want to enslave humanity, and they work with some human people, who has the real power, so they are the real government, and the president and the other institutional politic powers just are a front to the people.  The colonialist with the Syndicate, develop a conspiracy to prepare the final invasion to the Earth in 2012, and for this they have a network who works in government, FBI, police, army, and everywhere.

-And the last think is in this story the scriptwriters mix mythic elements, with politic, and one love relationship between Mulder and Scully. This added with main questions about human origins, our future, and one message: Fight the future, make The X Files the best TV show.

Environment

I think environment is a systemic problem related to the mode of production and those human relations with nature, and this is not a trivial thing, because the approach by the two ways is so different: one put like important what can we do like individuals in our cotidianity, of course this is important, but we can compare the pollution that produce the people who don’t put the trash in garbage can with the pollution of the miner industry; and the other one put the importance in economic dynamics, or urban structure, etc. I know the people who investigate about environment think in two levels, but almost all appears in television, where most of people get information about this topic, stand out just what is our hands, and omit that this is statistically marginal, and the problems of industry and forest industry, and also Europe and United State are making or no in internationals agreements. So, I’m not sure about how can the people really do something to our planet, because, I insist: this is a systemic problem of our society and world, and home recycling or environment friendly practice in this level don’t have impact. For example, I am cyclist, and this doesn’t combat the production of CO2 of the cars and buses. Is just a seat free in the bus, and most of poor people doesn’t have cars, so even when they ride bikes, they will not use a car. Of course It is really complicated, but the solutions that are in discussion today are too voluntarist and I have doubts.

My Pets

As the post of today is free, i want to talk about my pets: Meche and Carlos Marx. Meche is a female dog that my girlfriend got in the canine rescue center in two thousand ten. And since the last year I live with them. Meche is a very special dog, because she is so intelligent, especially what we say to her: for example if we say “go to your bed”, she goes to her bed, or “come with me” and Meche stand up and move her tail very happy: she knows we will go for walk. In other topics, she is so expressive: when we come to home, she really gets crazy in happiness of see us. Or, when one of us is sad or get seek, Meche get close to mi or my girlfriend and just get her food over us. Really she is amazing. This is a picture of Meche.

The other one, the hamster is Carlos Marx, obviously named like the theorist of socialism. In first time we thought call Fox Mulder, like de protagonist of the X files, but to day no one knows about he, and every one of our friends know about Marx. The cousin of a friend of my girlfriend gave it to us when her hamster, called Gloria Trevi, gave birth offsprings. Carlos Marx is so nice, and there is a picture when recent he came to our home, was a baby yet.

The music I like

As the topic of this post is free I want to wright about the music I like listen. This is so varied, but in the middle of difference there are some common elements. 

For example, for one side I like too much Quilapayun and Victor Jara; and by the other side I like some groups of Punk rock. But, they have lyrics of social critic, and motive you to think about our history and try to do something with this. And is so important the aesthetic that creates atmospheres with energy. 

This last point is so important and for this I too like regueton music, and singers like daddy Yankee or J Álvarez, doesn’t talk about society or politic, just gives energy to walk in our life and work.  But this is just for get distracted by moments. And doesn’t get compare with the aesthetic, musician and politic work of Quilapayun. 

I’ve seen Quilapayun in live, and is amazing the play voices, and how they sound beautiful and imposing in tracks like “Mi patria” or “Con el alma llena de banderas”. This is the Quilapayun I like, the military culture in the music.

The amazing inherit of Yugoslavia

One of the countries I would to visit in my life are the ex-Yugoslavia’s countries, like Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia and Albania. I have various motivations: some of them are because this is a culture totally different respect us language, traditions, cooking, local history, and the local architecture, this is really amazing.

Some thinks I know about Yugoslavia and his inherit countries: they were related to First World War, en 1914, with the killing of Franz Ferdinand, of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. At the end of the war, was found the Kingdom of Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia.

Also, I would know his culture, because his history is too interesting: ex socialist countries and wars related to dissolution. But architecture inherits Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and others look like of the future or other world. So, this is my first motivation to visit these countries.  Here are some pictures.

With the Second World War was found, by partisans of Tito, the republic of Yugoslavia like a socialist republic.

In nineteen ninety one Macedonia and Bosnia declare his independence, and he start the ethnic conflicts that end with the intervention of United Nations in nineteen ninety nine, and the worst moment was the war of Kosovo, in nineteen ninety two.

My ideal Job.

My ideal job is investigating about politic parties of Chile, and ideally making documentaries about this. The theme can vary, it could be about historic or actually problems related; or future possibilities of solutions to actually problems.

Obviously I need audiovisual qualities, but for example, mi girlfriend and my brother work in this topic, and I will be liked working with one of them or both.  So this is resolved. But the most important think respect this is have great stories to relate, stories that merit and need be related. For example now I’m investigating how de politic left be missing in the transition to democracy for my investigation workshop. And yesterday I have interviewed to Yerko Ljubetic, President of FECH in 1984, and militant of Cristian Democracy, and was impressive the thinks he talked about how his party spins to right, and he was marginalized of government in decade of nineties. Things like this need be understood by the people in Chile.
